On May 27, a presentation of the book "300 Artists of Ukraine over 300 Years" by ArtHuss publishing will take place at kmbs. This large-scale project explores the continuity of Ukrainian art and the visual language of Ukrainian identity.

The book features 300 artists from the 18th century to the present day and presents Ukrainian culture as a self-sufficient European tradition, complete with its own schools, artistic breakthroughs, imagery, traumas, and ways of perceiving the world. It is an attempt to make Ukrainian art visible — for ourselves and for the world.

At the same time, it is a book about the return of names and contexts that have been dissolved in imperial and Soviet narratives for centuries. It showcases Ukrainian artists as part of the Ukrainian cultural tradition and discusses Ukrainian identity through light, color, composition, and imagery.

A distinctive feature of the publication is the narrative style: the history of Ukrainian art is interpreted by the artist Petro Bevza through his own experience, professional perspective, and a vibrant dialogue with previous generations of artists. The book offers not a linear canon, but a map of connections, echoes, and continuities between artists of different eras.
